1. Who we are

Ethos is operated by KasmerOne LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We build tools that help people reflect on their values, preserve their voice, and pass on their philosophy to the people they love.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the service.

• Account information — your email address and password (stored via Supabase Auth).
• Conversation content — messages you exchange with your Ethos companion, including reflections, values, and stories you choose to share.
• Voice recordings — if you use the Legacy feature, audio samples you submit for voice cloning.
• Payment information — billing details processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and technical logs (IP address, browser, device type).

3. How we use your information

• Providing the service — powering your companion conversations, generating and storing voice models, and managing your subscription.
• Improving Ethos — understanding how features are used to make them better. We do not use your personal conversations to train AI models without explicit consent.
• Communication — sending transactional emails (receipts, password resets). We will ask before sending marketing emails.
• Legal obligations — complying with applicable law and protecting the safety of users.

4. Voice data

Voice recordings submitted through the Legacy feature are processed to create a personal voice model. This data is sensitive. We:

• Store voice recordings and derived models securely.
• Do not share your voice data with third parties except as required to operate the voice cloning service.
• Delete voice recordings and models within 30 days of account deletion or upon request.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Service providers — Supabase (database and auth), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI conversation models), and ElevenLabs (voice cloning), each bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
• Business transfers — if KasmerOne LLC is acquired or merges, user data may transfer to the new entity under the same protections.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7). Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export your conversation history in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent for optional data uses (e.g., marketing emails).

8. Cookies and tracking

Ethos uses session cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics cookies beyond basic, privacy-respecting usage metrics.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted data at rest, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Ethos is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a prominent notice in the app. Continued use of Ethos after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
